  • Tunecore Lets Others Offer Digital Distribution On June 20th 2008

    By Guest |

In a first in the field of digital music, starting June 20th,Tuncore will enable anyone to offer worldwide digital distribution, using TuneCore's infrastructure.

TuneCore has already democratized half of the music industry by allowing all artists to "sign themselves" to a record contract and have worldwide distribution into iTunes and the other digital download stores while taking no rights, exclusivity or revenue from the sale of the music; it is now democratizing the other half.

TuneCore has dropped the barriers to entry on this brand-new market, by providing the infrastructure, support, access and skills at a low cost. Any company — whether a radio station; instrument manufacturer; management firm; merchandise manufacturer; software creator; promotion company; record label; or more — can now also be their own digital aggregator. For example, off their own websites, different label imprints may offer artists the opportunity to "sign themselves" to a given label, with different benefits and at different costs. Management companies and radio stations can offer marketing and distribution and music creation software can let the users create music and with a click of a button have it stocked on the shelves of digital stores around the world.
