    By HC News |

Boston MA, November 17, 2014 — The GRAMMY Museum at L.A. LIVE announced that Berklee College of Music has been named an official university affiliate, giving Berklee access to GRAMMY Museum content for educational purposes, curriculum resources, research programs, internship opportunities, professional development seminars, collaborative marketing and promotions, project-based learning and more.

“With the GRAMMY Museum’s university affiliate program, we’re inviting educational institutions to engage in a unique resource-sharing opportunity,” said Bob Santelli, executive director of The GRAMMY Museum. “Our partnership with Berklee was a natural fit, bringing two internationally recognized organizations together in the name of education.”

“The GRAMMY Museum is a fountain of historical and educational resources for aspiring contemporary musicians, and we are all about creating opportunities for Berklee students that help them prepare for enduring careers in music,” said Berklee President Roger Brown.

An event to mark the new partnership was held at Berklee on Friday, November 14, attended by Brown; Rita George, deputy executive director of the GRAMMY Museum; and faculty GRAMMY Award-winners Terri Lyne Carrington and Danilo Perez. Berklee alumni and faculty have been awarded more than 300 GRAMMY Awards and Latin GRAMMY Awards.

Since its opening in December 2008, the GRAMMY Museum strives to be a dynamic and innovative 21st-century museum through interactive technology, acclaimed public and education programs and one-of-a-kind exhibitions displayed at its Los Angeles headquarters and at institutional partners around the world. To further its education initiatives and mission, the GRAMMY Museum seeks to engage like-minded cultural institutions, both universities and cultural centers, in a collaborative and unique approach to arts education and outreach through its affiliate program.
