  • The Black Crowes' Chris and Rich Robinson Rely on VOX Heritage Collection Guitar Amplifiers

    By Guest |

Chris and Rich Robinson, brothers and co-founders of the legendary musical act The Black Crowes, are enjoying the rich sound of their VOX Heritage Collection amplifiers. The amp series was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of VOX amps, and was based on VOX's classic AC30. While touring in support of their latest studio release, "Before the Frost...Until the Freeze" (2009, Silver Arrow), both musicians have been prominently using their Heritage amps to help attain their signature sound. Chris Robinson has been using a VOX Heritage Collection AC30H2 hand-wired combo for his on-stage amp. He also uses VOX VGSCRD and VGSCBK Virage single cutaway guitars (in deep cherry and black, respectively). Chris stated, "The VOX Virage guitar and the AC30H2 both complement each other as a great package. I enjoy playing them together every night on tour—it brings me great satisfaction. I've owned VOX amps in the past and have used them on numerous recording sessions, and I find these new hand-wired AC30s to have incredible warmth in the mids." Rich Robinson has been using the VOX Heritage Collection AC30HH Head and V212H Cabinet. This particular model combines the vintage sound of the classic VOX AC30 with modern tone shaping. For Rich, the AC30HH/V212 partnering may be the ultimate in VOX tone. He noted, "The VOX AC30 has been used on classic albums and has been sought after by guitarists for many years. VOX has once again captured that classic sound and feel with the Heritage Collection." Please visit http://www.blackcrowes.com/ and www.voxamps.com for more information.
