  • TC Electronic Adds Chromatic Tuner To Konnekt 24D Interface

    By Guest |

TC Electronic announces the addition of a chromatic tuner to the Konnekt 24D feature set. The tuner will be included with Konnekt 24D units starting in January 2007 and can also be downloaded as a free update for existing users.

The Konnekt tuner is accessible in two ways. The light ring on the front panel can be set to act as a tuner, showing if the note is in tune and if not, how much it differs. Alternatively, a tab on the control panel software will have all options. The tuner uses Konnekt 24D's internal DSPs, making it available in stand-alone mode as well as with a computer.

The tuner offers a number of scales including guitar and bass scales with different counts of strings and a chromatic scale. The Konnekt tuner is able to send out a reference note, which can be set from 338 Hz to 445Hz and the tuner can be configured to an external note as well. The notes can be switched on and off using the light ring knob, which also can control the volume of the note.

The Konnekt tuner itself has two modes: point mode, where the deviation is shown with a point deviating from its center position and strobe mode where the deviation is shown as a strobe light that moves faster the more deviation. The control panel version is able to be scaled to large sizes, so that the tuner is visible from a distance. A mute function is included to mute the output of the tuner for quiet tuning if desired. With this addition to the existing feature set of Konnekt 24D, users will always have a quality tuner at hand.
