  • Tama Introduces Limited Edition Snare Drums

    By Guest |

Summer is the time Tama customarily trots out limited edition products to generate buzz, test the market waters, and just generally do something different. In this regard, the Nashville 2008 Summer NAMM Show will not disappoint: Tama has some nifty limited edition and limited production goodies. Two of the limited edition offerings are 8 x 14" snares, often the snare of choice during the big '80s and a snare size once more demanded by a goodly number of drummers. The third offering is the increasingly popular non-standard 7 x 13". All three limited edition drums come with a deluxe Tama snare carrying bag.

The Artwood Custom (model no. AM1480BNBDDB) with its 6mm maple shell finished in Dark Desert Burst, was designed for players who want the full-throated power of the 8 x 14" size combined with the warmth of wood. The list price is $549.99. Only 100 of these will be available and only in the United States.

For players looking for the take-no-prisoners projection and power of steel, Tama offers a Metalworks version (model no. ST1480BNB) which features a 1.2mm steel shell finished in Brushed Black Nickel. The list price is 469.99. Only 100 will be available and only in the United States.

Many players have found that the 7 x 13" offers the best combination of big tones with good response and feel, and for these players Tama has the another limited edition Artwood Custom (model no. AM13708NB SSS) which features a 6mm maple shell finished in the new Tama finish Silver Shadow Sparkle. The list price is $499.99. Only 250 pieces will be available and only in the United States.
