The Olympia brand recently launched the Orpheum 2 banjo as well as two new Parlor acoustic guitars and two new Dreadnought models.
Olympia's new Orpheum 2 traditional banjo is a revival of an American legend. The banjo features original Orpheum 2 inlay patterns in a 5-string configuration. Updated with modern construction and design, the Orpheum 2 has features typically found only in more expensive American made instruments. Offering a cast bell-bronze tone ring, maple resonator and rim, with pearl inlay and a Remo head, the instrument includes `banjo style' planetary tuners and Olympia's Lifetime Limited Warranty. The Orpheum 2 is designed, set up and inspected in the USA by Tacoma Guitars.
"The quality of these instruments is amazing for the price," says Terry Atkins, Tacoma Market Development Manager. "There isn't another offshore manufacturer that offers more value."
Also new at NAMM are four all solid wood Olympia guitars, ranging, at retail, from $600 to $850. These top-of-the-line models are the best ever from Tacoma's fast growing line of well made, inexpensive guitars, designed in Tacoma, WA and manufactured in the Far East. At these prices, they represent a logical transition from the current Olympia line to the best selling American made Tacoma models.
