Roland has announced the latest addition to their SRX-Series sound library: the SRX-05 Supreme Dance Wave Expansion Board. This 64MB board contains pumped-up rhythm sets and high-quality individual drum and instrument sounds--just what the doctor ordered for hip-hop, house, trance or any other style of modern dance music. Like all SRX-Series boards, the SRX-05 can be user-installed in any SRXpandable Roland synth, including all XV synths, RD-700, and the hot new Fantom* workstation.

The SRX-05 features 818 all-new waveforms, 312 patches and 34 rhythm sets. In fact, there are more drums on the SRX-05 than on any previous Roland expansion board, with a whopping 113 kicks and 133 snares! The Roland Sound Labs developed this huge collection after talking with top engineers and dance music producers around the world, who revealed the secrets of their killer drum tracks. So the Supreme Dance drum sounds don't even need any additional processing--they sound great just the way they are.

A dance track is comprised of more than drums, of course, and Supreme Dance is also packed with 312 killer instrument patches, including punchy basses and newly sampled synth sounds from classic synthesizers all the way up to Roland's popular JP-8000. There are also 82 hits and stabs, and a collection of fresh new scratches performed by noted turntablists. All of the SRX-05's patches take full advantage of the XV-Series' onboard effects.
