Subdecay announced their new opto-based phaser stompbox, designed to produce everything from rotating speaker sounds, to 'bouncing' filter effects.

The Quasar features opto-based circuitry to eliminate noise and unwanted distortion found in other designs. The pedal offers true bypass switching, an LED indicator, and can be powered by a 9 volt battery or 9VDC adapter.

    Controls include:

    • Rate - Super slow to fast.
    • Feedback - Positive and negative feedback control. Turn to the left for deep notched phasing, and turn to the right for resonant filter tones.
    • Frequency - Sets the center frequency of the effect.
    • Depth - Sets the range of the effect around the center frequency. Turn to the far left for a fixed filter tone.
    • Mix - Wet/Dry control.

The Quasar Phase Shifter comes with a limited 3 year warranty. Retail price is $179. An introductory price of $150 has been made available through September.
