  • Source Audio Introduces Soundblox® Pro Line Of Guitar Distortion Pedals at 2010 Winter NAMM

    By Guest |

Source Audio, innovators of the award-winning Hot Hand® and Multiwave Distortion guitar effects products, are introducing the Soundblox Pro series at the 2010 Winter NAMM. The line brings a wide range of rack-mounted sounds and control features to a small floor pedal. Both of the new Soundblox Pro distortion products offer their own extensive palate of distortions, plus a clean boost/EQ mode. Each distortion type is highly customizable via the extremely intuitive interface and 7-band graphic EQ. Six user presets, accessible via three footswitches, allow for the speedy recall of any custom tailored sound, and a traditional expression pedal input facilitates the seamless morphing from one user preset to another. Plus, each pedal is equipped with a MIDI input, allowing external access to presets and parameters. For the sonic explorer, the Soundblox Pro Multiwave Distortion offers 23 distinctive and modern effect types. What makes the Multiwave unique is its use of multi-band processing, which offers a clear distortion with unprecedented note articulation. Sounds range from basic tones to aggressive synth-like, octave heavy, and extreme foldback effects that go far beyond traditional distortions. The pedal is used on tour by artists ranging from Chuck Garvey of moe. to Brad Whitford of Aerosmith to Reeve Gabrels. For the vintage guitar tone enthusiast, the Soundblox Pro Classic Distortion features 4 tube amp and 8 fuzz box overdrive tones in the same powerful control format as the Pro Multiwave. The sounds are organic and enormously customizable via pre- and post-mid control drives and the EQ. Unlike other products, which attempt to digitally clone, model, or emulate vintage gear, the Pro Classic is the result of a five-year listening study and iterative algorithm design process involving over 40 classic pedals and extensive artist evaluation. Both pedals are also available in the scaled down, non-programmable, standard Soundblox line. The two product lines are compatible with the Hot Hand Motion Controller, and feature state-of-the-art, 56-bit Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with 24-bit converters for crystal clear output. MSRP for both the Soundblox Pro Classic and Multiwave Distortion is $299 (street: $219). The Soundblox Classic Distortion is $169 (street: $119). They are available now.
