  • Soundminer and Sonomic Announce the Release of Soundminer 4.1.8

    By Guest |

Soundminer and Sonomic today announced the release of Soundminer 4.1.8, featuring the ability to search, preview, and download directly from Sonomic's 250,000 sound library. The new release offer the ability to spot directly into your Digidesign Pro Tool's session right from your Sonomic account while in Soundminer v4 or v4pro.

Soundminer treats Sonomic's online database just like it was one of its own: users can search Sonomic with Soundminer's renowned search engine and preview all Sonomic sounds with waveform overviews and varispeed playback. V4 users can also spot Sonomic sounds directly into the active DAW session and V4pro users can even add plug-ins on the fly. All Soundminer products can download both individual sounds and entire Downloadable CDs from Sonomic with just a single click. Best of all, every Sonomic sound downloaded with Soundminer is automatically databased on the user's workstation, so it can be found again instantly at any time. The update is free to all existing users.

"There are really two parts to the sound management equation," says Adam Strauss, Sonomic's CEO. "First, how do you organize, find, and edit the sounds in your library, and second, how do you get new sounds. By working together, Sonomic and Soundminer can address both these components more efficiently than ever before. This benefits both companies, since each can focus on its core competency, but more importantly, it benefits the customers. Soundminer clients can now get new sounds from Sound Ideas, BBC, Zero-G, and many other top libraries, all without ever leaving the Soundminer application. Sonomic's customers now have a more powerful interface for accessing Sonomic and managing their local libraries. It's truly a win-win for everyone."

"Soundminer has a rich history of leading this market segment in both features and technology" says Soundminer Inc. President Steve Pecile, "and both technology and market conditions have converged to allow for this kind of integration. This is a great thing for all our users."

Sonomic connectivity is included in v4.1.8, which is a free update for all Macintosh v4 products.
