  • Sound Skulptor Ships the MP573, Classic Mic Preamplifier Ported to the Lunchbox Format

    By Guest |

Sound Skulptor ships the MP573, a single ended class A preamp, based on the classic Neve 1290/1073, ported to the API Lunchbox format.

The sound of the MP573, like its model is full, silky, detailed and musical, slightly larger than life, very complimentary to a digital recording environment.

This product is a new addition to the Sound Skulptor range of DIY kits. The DIY approach on these products makes them affordable to most - without compromising on quality. The skills needed to build the kit are basic, thanks to careful design and to the very detailed instructions. Of course, the products are also available fully assembled for the non-technicians.

    Highlights:

    Single ended class A design

Carnhill/St. Ives transformers on input and output

0 to 70 dB of gain

FET DI input, relay switched, the signal passes through the input transformer

Golden contacts on relays and switches

Jumper selectable input impedance: 300-1200 ohms

    High quality Grayhill gain switch

Tantalum capacitors in the audio path

    Easy build, dense but straightforward
