  • Sonoma Wire Works Introduces RiffWorld.com

    By Guest |

Sonoma Wire Works introduces RiffWorld.com™, an online music collaboration community for RiffWorks™ users. RiffWorks easy-to-use recording software includes automatic track creation, loop recording, guitar-oriented effects, InstantDrummer, professionally recorded drum tracks, online music collaboration, and instant podcasting. RiffWorld.com rolls it all into a friendly online community.

Sonoma has updated RiffWorks to v2.1.1 (free for v2 owners), improving the online collaboration and instant podcasting features, and integrating them with RiffWorld.com. During the online collaboration beta test, more than 600 songs were created by more than 200 musicians worldwide (US, Canada, U.K., Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and more). Testers reported no latency or distance problems. RiffWorld.com is now officially out of beta, and with over 20,000 RiffWorks users, there are many musicians ready to play music together.

In RiffWorks, four musicians can collaborate on a song simultaneously. As a Riff layer is recorded, it instantly streams to other players. As the Riff loops, others can add layers to the Riff without latency or distance issues. All contributions are saved on RiffWorld.com and can be opened later to continue playing. Musicians worldwide are creating songs together online no matter how far apart they live or what time zone they are in!

On RiffWorld.com, musician profile pages list their gear, RiffWorks songs and collaborations, and comments — similar interests are linked automatically, making it easy to find people with the same musical taste. Musicians chat about song posts and collaborations on RiffWorld.com and directly inside RiffWorks while they play. Awards are given to songs with the most plays, editorial picks, and RiffRumble song contests wins. RiffWorld.com connects musicians who have similar interests and inspires them make more music together.

Robert Easley, a prominent guitar player, talks about his experience on RiffWorld.com, “I tell my friends I have a pro-studio that’s open 24-7 and I can sit in on any session, any time the creative urge strikes, with musicians whose skills take a back seat to no one. I can ask any one of them to throw down a track or two. If I have just the start of an idea, they help complete it in ways I would have never imagined.”

Dan Walton, VP of Technology, Sonoma Wire Works says, “Not only does RiffWorld.com showcase and connect musicians, it enables them to easily record songs together over the Internet. A bass player, guitarist, and vocalist can make and record quality music together regardless of their locations and schedules. RiffWorld.com revolutionizes the way people create and enjoy music."
