  • SONiVOX Releases Two New Virtual Instruments For Creative Labs' 24-Bit SoundFont Format

    By Guest |

SONiVOX MI (formerly Sonic Implants) today announced the release of two new virtual musical instrument products designed to take full advantage of Creative Labs' new 24-bit SoundFont format. SONiVOX Symphonic Strings X-Fi and SONiVOX Symphonic Brass X-Fi represent the first commercially available 24-bit SoundFont banks available outside of Creative Labs capable of capitalizing on the new Sound Blaster X-FI 24-bit hardware for sample rendering.

Priced at $39.95 each, SONiVOX Symphonic Strings X-Fi and SONiVOX Symphonic Brass X-Fi not only offer higher fidelity samples, but scalable compatibility with older, 16-bit SoundFont synthesizers.

While 16-bit SoundFont banks have been available from SONiVOX MI since 1997, SONiVOX Symphonic Strings X-Fi and SONiVOX Symphonic Brass X-Fi bring a taste of the 24-bit Symphonic Collection to millions of SoundFont users worldwide for the first time.

SONiVOX Symphonic Strings X-Fi and SONiVOX Symphonic Brass X-Fi are both compatible with 24-bit hardware acceleration on Creative's latest line of "X-Fi" branded PC sound cards. SoundFont capable software synthesizers found on the Mac platform and E-MU's Emulator X platform will render the new SoundFont banks at 16-bit quality, making these the most flexible SoundFont banks ever released.

SONiVOX Symphonic Strings X-Fi and SONiVOX Symphonic Brass X-Fi are available for download now at www.sonivoxmi.com. A demonstration bank is also available online free of charge to provide auditioning of the instruments before purchasing.
