    Los Angeles, CA — August 17, 2011

Alfred Music Publishing, the leader in educational print music  publishing since 1922, in association with the National Guitar Workshop,  one of America’s finest guitar schools, releases Shredding Paganini,  a collection of nine masterpieces by violin virtuoso Niccolò Paganini  adapted for shred guitar, written by guitarist, composer, author, and  educator German Schauss.

Shredding Paganini features  full TAB and easy-to-follow instruction plus song-by-song musical  analysis for nine Paganini masterpieces arranged and adapted for shred  guitar. As the follow-up to the popular book Shredding Bach, Shredding Paganini is  a perfect supplement for advanced guitarists with a firm grasp of  guitar technique and music theory, as well as for intermediate  guitarists who seek to develop their shred technique. The accompanying  CD features all the examples found in the book, many of which are  recorded at multiple speeds for practicing, and is extremely useful in  helping guitarists attain mastery of these great Paganini compositions.

Niccolò Paganini (1782–1840), whose lifestyle and fame were similar to  that of a modern rock star, was undoubtedly one of the greatest virtuosos  that ever lived. His skills were so advanced that many believed he had  made a pact with the devil. Paganini's practice schedule (15 hours a  day), combined with a genetic connective tissue disorder that gave him  near impossible reach and flexibility with his fingers, resulted in  extremely demanding and exciting compositions for shredders of any era.  Paganini's works, which showcase his extraordinary skills, are perfect  for the heavy metal style and geared to stretch guitar playing limits to  the extreme.
