Ibanez already offered a nylon-string acoustic-electric. The AEG10 model featured a much narrower neck than the traditional classical guitar as well as 14 frets to the body joint, instead of the classical guitar's 12 frets to the joint.
But for some it wasn't enough of a good thing. "At several NAMM shows, it seemed like one person after another told me that they loved the narrow neck of the our AEG10NT guitar, but that AEG body--then the smallest of our AE guitars--was too small for them. So we came up with a new model with an AEF-sized body, which is larger but still small enough for comfortable live performance. "
The AEF20CSNELRG lists for $499.99 and features an Ibanez Shape Shifter preamp with an Ibanez Squeal Repeal pickup made by the B-Band company. Like almost all Ibanez's 2005 acoustic-electrics the AEF20CSNELRG features an onboard chromatic tuner and balanced 1/4" and XLR outputs.
