  • Schroeder Custom Guitars Announces The "Shorty" Carved Top Model

    By Guest |

If 3-year wait times and nearly 5 digit prices are the problem in high-end custom electric guitars, then the Schroeder Shorty is the answer. This limited run of one-off guitars is the product of years of input from the custom guitar market. This series of guitars is built to builder Jason Schroeder's specs, allowing him to incorporate the specs that are time tested and combine to make great sounding and playing guitars. Unique inlays and finish colors, top-end woods, and simple, elegant designs are used to make these guitars stand out in the sea of cookie-cutter guitars. Schroeder uses traditional tone woods in the creation of these guitars so there is no experimenting here: Brazilian rosewood fingerboards, highly figured maple tops, Korina and Honduran mahogany backs. Name brand components are also used throughout: Tone-Pros bridges, Sperzel or Schaller locking tuners, Dunlop or Schaller strap locks. Schroeder builds these guitars to be very responsive and achieve classic tones if not a bit more aggressive. Schroeder guitars include stainless steel frets for sustained fret-life and glassy string bends. All of these guitars are handmade and finished in Redding, California without the use of CNCs.

Features of the Shorty RTSs include:

    • All guitars made from the best quality woods available (highly figured maple, Brazilian rosewood, Honduran mahogany)
    • Stout, round "comfort carved" necks designed to allow hours of painless playing
    • High-end components throughout (Tone-Pros, Schaller, Sperzel, Dunlop, Seymour Duncan, Wagner, and Gunsher Pickups)
    • Excellent upper fret access
    • Stainless steel frets
    • Elegant inlays
    • Nitrocellulose finish
    • Inset knobs
    • Handmade Brazilian rosewood knobs, backplates and truss rod covers
    • Dramatic top carves

Prices start around $3,500 and go up based on options.
