    The Sax family has a newborn little girl, Ms. Sax S., the Soprano Sax, . After the great success of The Sax Brothers, Samplemodeling™ was asked to extend the Sax family. Here is the brand new sister, Ms. Sax S., using a completely new, proprietary platform, the SWAM engine.

    Ms. Sax S. ?

    Yes, the female member of the saxophone family, created by Stefano  Lucato, Emanuele Parravicini & Luigi Felici in collaboration with  Samplemodeling.

    What’s new in Ms. Sax S.?

    This is a completely new instrument, designed and programmed for a new,  proprietary platform, built on the specifications of Stefano's SWAM  (Synchronous Wavelength Acoustic Modeling) technology.. Thus, a new line  of products, based on the new platform, is expected to add to the "classic" Samplemodeling Instruments. This will  undoubtedly speed up the development of new instruments, which has been  requested by all our customers, wishing to have at hand an entire  Samplemodeling orchestra.

    Ms. Sax S. uses samples as a  base material, chromatically performed by a professional soprano sax  player over a very wide dynamic range, and recorded with  state-of-the-art technology. The resulting timbre is therefore that of the real instrument. But the analogy with a sample based library  ends here. The SWAM technology allows continuous interpolation among  different vectors like time, dynamics, pitch and formants. Advanced real  time processing techniques yield realistic legato/portamento, vibrato, ornamentations & trills with phase  continuity, constant-formant pitchbends, and virtually any kind of  articulation can be performed in real time. You may vary timbre,  harmonic structure and formants, choose type of attack, set the intensity of subharmonic, growl, flutter tongue, key noise, breath  noise, pipe resonance, overblow and much more.

    What is the SWAM engine?
    Differently  from other Samplemodeling instruments running on NI Kontakt, Ms. Sax S.  is supplied as a plugin using its own engine. It runs on PC (any host  supporting VST 32/64 bit) and Mac (any host supporting AU 32 or 64 bit, and VST 32/64 bit).  RTAS is not  supported yet.  Standalone mode on a PC requires a suitable VST host.
