  • Russell Gilbrook Joins Natal Drums

    By Guest |

Natal has signed yet another top player to its ever expanding roster. British

drummer Russell Gilbrook, member of Uriah Heap, is the latest artist to

    choose Natal.

Over the last few years Russell Gilbrook has been establishing himself on

the UK clinic tour scene impressing many with his unique brand of performing

and teaching. He has supported artists such as Greg Bissonette and completed a

tour with Liberty Devito. Russell continually strives to push himself

musically and has worked with a remarkably diverse range of artists: the respected

jazz musician Chris Barber and his band, Alan Price, as well as the heavier

projects including Rockzilla, Exposé, and of course filling the stool of the

late great Cozy Powell in Bedlam (where he played with brothers Dave and Denny

Ball, plus singer Frank Aiello). Russell has also played with ex-Camel

    keyboard player Pete Bardens.

Russell's band, The Gods (Generators Of Distorted Sound), have completed

their debut album in the USA and will be lining up for Ozzfest next year.

Russell is also working on Tony Iommi's forthcoming album. His softer side is

further demonstrated on work with Lonnie Donnigan, John Farnham and even the

    legendary Van Morrison.

Not content with just playing, Russell teaches on Sky's Musicians' Channel

and holds a position at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music; he has also

published several teaching guides. Russell is regarded as one of the UK's

finest drummers and clinician's and has toured his own specialist drum clinics

    all over Europe.
