In the continued pursuit of technical excellence, Roland is proud to announce its newest 8-track V-Studio, the VS-890 24-bit Digital Studio Workstation. This self-contained digital hard disk recorder/mixer offers eight tracks of 24-bit recording, dual stereo effects, and improved CD mastering through the use of a dedicated CD-RW Mastering button and new CD Writing Mode, making it a compact dream studio for musicians.

In the tradition of the popular VS-880EX, the VS-890 is an 8-track / 128 Virtual Track digital hard disk recorder with integrated effects processing and automated digital mixing capabilities. But this new V-Studio features 24-bit A/D-D/A converters, which deliver massive headroom and dynamic range when used with the VS-890s new 24-bit VSR recording mode. Quite simply, this is the best-sounding 8-track digital studio workstation Roland has ever offered.

In addition to features common to all V-Studioslike Virtual Tracks, integrated mixing with dynamic automation, 999 levels of Undo, and non-destructive, random-access editingthe VS-890 includes dual stereo effects with COSM Speaker Modeling and a Mastering Tool Kit. COSM Speaker Modeling allows users to listen to their mixes on a range of different sonic "models" of popular studio monitors, as well as on TV and boombox simulations (requires Roland DS-90 24-bit Digital Reference Monitors sold separately). The Mastering Tool Kit, on the other hand, provides mastering effects like extensive parametric EQ, split-frequency compression, and other mastering tools, as well as preset mastering templates for different types of music. Accessing the mastering menus is simple, thanks to a dedicated CD-RW Mastering button.

The VS-890s new CD Writing Mode allows tracks to be recorded in Audio CD Image format, eliminating the conversion process previously required to burn CDs. The CD Writing Mode makes burning and duplicating CDs markedly faster and allows users to store the image file created to the internal hard disk. (Note that all CD writing requires optional Roland CD Recording System.)

With the VS-890, Roland brings true 24-bit sound quality and improved CD mastering to its most popular 8-track design, marking this digital studio workstation as a welcome addition to the V-Studio lineup.
