Roland is proud to announce the FP-3 Digital Piano, a stylish digital piano for the home or studio that combines professional featureslike an 88-note Progressive Hammer-Action keyboard and Rolands finest stereo-sampled piano soundswith an onboard Session Partner and 3-track Song Recorder to make learning and practice fun.

Finished in elegant champagne gold, the compact FP-3 carries on the FP-Series tradition of providing professional sounds and features in an instrument made for the home or studio. To start, the FP-3 uses a Progressive Hammer Action keyboard for more expressive performance. This dynamic "touch" variation design gives the keyboard a heavier touch in the lower range and a lighter touch in the upper range, just like an acoustic grand piano.

And the FP-3s piano sounds are inherited from the flagship FP-9 and faithfully reproduce the upper and lower registers of an acoustic pianocomplete with natural cabinet ambience. A total of 40 instrument sounds are provided, including "jazz scat" vocals and realistic drums. These sounds can be enhanced with onboard reverb, chorus and rotary speaker effects.

An onboard Session Partner makes practice more fun by providing rhythm and bass accompaniment in 60 different styles. Users can select up to nine preset chord progression patterns; it is also possible to specify chord progressions with the left hand during performance. A 3-track Song Recorder facilitates learning, allowing students to isolate left- and right-hand parts for practice.

The FP-3 includes a special cable for easy connection to outboard audio equipment, or users can place speakers above the piano using shelves included with the optional FPS-10A stand.

Connections to the FP-3 include stereo output jacks (L/Mono, R), stereo line input jacks (L/Mono, R), dual headphone jacks (stereo mini-jack type), MIDI In and Outplus Damper, Soft/Sostenuto and Expression Pedal inputs.
