Recordare Adds MusicXML 2.0 Support To Dolet 4 For Finale Plug-in
By Guest |
Recordare LLC, an Internet music software and publishing company, has released version 4 of its Dolet plug-in for the Finale music notation program. The Dolet 4 for Finale plug-in reads and writes MusicXML 2.0 files for the highest-fidelity translation available between music notation programs. It includes batch translation features to automate the process of moving digital sheet music files from one program to another. The Dolet 4 plug-in supports Finale 2000 to 2008 on Windows and Finale 2004 to 2008 on Mac OS X.
Recordare's Dolet plug-ins serve as "universal translators" between music notation programs. While Finale 2008 can read MusicXML 2.0 files, Dolet 4 for Finale is the first program that can write MusicXML files that include the new 2.0 features for file compression, multimedia support, and improved music formatting.
Dolet 4 for Finale is available for US $149.95 direct from Recordare. Upgrades from Dolet 3 for Finale are available for US $99.95.
The MusicXML format works with over 75 different music applications, including:
- Notation programs such as Finale, Sibelius, and capella
- Scanning programs such as SharpEye Music Reader and capella-scan
- PDF and MIDI music acquisition programs such as PDFtoMusic Pro and Notation Composer
- Electronic music stands for organ and piano such as OrganMuse and MuseBook Score
This combined support makes MusicXML far and away the most widely adopted music notation format since MIDI.
