First-Time Sponsor Porsche Teams with Iconic Brand at Martin Owners Club Event, Displaying Dynamic Line-up of Specialty and Premier Models On-Site
Nazareth, PA– August 11, 2011 – C.F. Martin & Co. (www.martinguitar.com) today announced that the 6th Annual Martin Owners Club (MOC) event saw record attendance on Friday, August 5, as members and their guests gathered at the Martin Factory and Museum for a series of live performances, demonstrations, factory & museum tour, food and more. Additionally, for the first time, the nearly 3000 attendees were treated to the “Porsche Experience” sponsored by Knopf Porsche and Porsche cars North America, which displayed new models on Sycamore Street, in the center of the day’s festivities.
“Each year, I look forward to the opportunity to meeting Martin owners from around the world, and the annual Martin Owners Club event keeps getting better, with more people visiting our Factory than ever before,” said company CEO and Chairman Chris Martin IV. “There’s tremendous value in personally connecting with people who share common interests. As a member of the Porsche Club myself, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have one of the leading automotive brands in the world on board as a sponsor for this year’s MOC Day.”
As a sponsor of the event, Porsche brought several models to the Nazareth Factory, along with representatives who were on hand to discuss each model with the attendees. Local residents and Porsche Owners, Don and Flo Makofske, brought their specialty 2011 911 GT2 RS for the display. Additionally, Porsche participated in one of the MOC Day raffles, offering a premier Porsche Gear package valued at approximately $1,500 dollars to a lucky winner.
Mick Pallardy, Area Vice President for Porsche, added “It is a unique opportunity for Porsche to partner with a brand as significant as Martin Guitar. We are extremely pleased with the synergy we have been able to create by taking part in this year’s Martin Owners Club event and look forward to developing an even more integrated partnership in the future. To be able to display our products alongside the Martin guitars featured this weekend was a real treat for us. Having Chris Martin join us, as an existing Porsche aficionado, makes this relationship even more special!”
Each year, enthusiasts from across the country and around the globe converge on Nazareth for MOC Day, and every year, the Martin Owners Club has brought together more entertainment, vendors and artists than the year before. This included performances by bluegrass legend TJ Casey ("Cowboy from the Soul"); former “Dancing with the Stars” dancer and solo musician Mark Ballas; singer/songwriter, ukulele mistress and one half of Garfunkel and Oates, Kate Micucci(also known for her roles in "Raising Hope," "Scrubs," "Four Kings" and "Malcolm in the Middle"); and rising star and contestant on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” Blake McMurray.
In addition to Friday’s almost 3000 attendees, thousands packed the streets – many even after a heavy rain storm began – for the fourth annual “Martin On Main,” a music and arts celebration hosted by the Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce and The UMGF: Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum that featured performers on stages located throughout the historic city of Nazareth, PA.
