QSC will introduce the "A" versions of the new PowerLight 2 Series power amplifiers for touring and portable live sound applications at the Audio Engineering Society tradeshow Sept. 22-25 in Los Angeles.

The PowerLight 2A models mirror the power points of the line's four base models, the PL 218, PL 224, PL 230, PL 236, but include on-board analog signal processing capability, switchable gain sensitivities, and adjustable output power limiters. Power ranges from 900 watts to 1850 watts per channel (2 ohms) in a 21 lb., 2RU chassis.

The PowerLight 2 Series incorporates the same proven PowerWaveTM switching technology found in the original PowerLight Series, QSC's premium amplifier line trusted by the nation's top touring sound companies. PowerWave boosts overall sonic quality and ensures efficient, cool-running performance under the most demanding loads.

PowerLight 2 amplifiers are also equipped with several unique features designed exclusively for live sound professionals. Built-in, defeatable input clip limiters and selectable low-frequency roll-off filters boost system response and ensure low-end tightness. A custom security cover conceals front-panel gain controls and prevents tampering. An optional air filter helps prevent dust from entering the amp. A detachable "locking" IEC power cable, a variety of I/O options, and a standard Data Port for interfacing with QSControl, QSC's computer control system, and the DSP-3 module, for digital signal processing, gives the PowerLight 2 series maximum flexibility in configuration for the road. All PowerLight 2 models resemble the styling of the original PowerLight line.
