While comics are making a major impact at the box office and in the entertainment world at large, Peavey is bridging the gap between comic fans and musicians with two Top Cow comic-themed guitars.

Drawing upon Top Cow Comics' edgy Proximity Effect title--the first comic distributed freely online--the new Proximity Effect Rotor and Mark Silvestri Cover Rotor are designed with high-end components, Peavey technology and custom graphics drawn by famed Top Cow artist Mark Silvestri.

The Proximity Effect Rotor features original artwork as seen in its namesake comic, while the Mark Silvestri Cover Rotor features the art from the front cover of Proximity Effect, Volume 1, the first graphic novel in the series.

The Peavey Rotor guitar debuted in Issue No. 1 of Proximity Effect in the hands of main character Lisa Torres, a vagabond singer/rocker girl who is making her way through the gritty rock 'n' roll underground. The Rotor is Lisa's musical weapon of choice, her traveling companion and her ticket to success.

This new neck-through-body guitar is designed with retro '80s body stylings and outfitted with extra-hot Peavey humbucking pickups for metal tone, plus a patented Peavey Dual-Compression bridge system that creates a metal-to-metal string connection for singing sustain. In addition, the Rotor features a custom pau shell binding that tracks around the neck and headstock, plus black satin hardware and custom, hollowed tuning keys; a six-in-line headstock; 24 jumbo frets; deep inset jack; two volume knobs; one tone knob; and a three-way, toggle-style pickup selector.

The first two issues of Proximity Effect are available online free of charge at www.proximity-effect.com, and Top Cow has also collected the entire series, including issue #3, into the Proximity Effect, Volume 1 graphic novel. The book includes extra anthology material and is available from Peavey retailers and comic book stores.

The Proximity Effect Rotor and Mark Silvestri Cover Rotor guitars will be available in Q4 2004 from authorized Peavey dealers.
