Primacoustic Bows the GoTrap™ Stackable Gobo and Bass Trap

Vancouver BC based Primacoustic is please to announce the GoTrap, a high performance 'stackable' studio gobo designed to isolate instruments and provide the recording engineer with more of the desired signal versus background noise.

According to Primacoustic Product Specialist Jay Porter: "Capturing the magic of a recording is often easiest when the band plays together in the same room. This is when they groove and feel the music as a unit. The challenge is containing the sound so that each instrument can be treated and processed separately in the control room while creating a synergistic environment for the band. For years, studios have been making custom gobos for this very purpose. A gobo can be placed in between the instruments to help reduce spill while the musicians play together as a unit. This means that for instance, if you can isolate the bass from the drums, when it comes time to mix, each track will be distinct and uncluttered with unwanted noise. You will therefore have more control and will ultimately achieve a better mix."

The GoTrap is a combination gobo and bass trap that is made tough to handle the abuse of a commercial studio. It features furniture-grade Baltic birch construction with dove-tail corners for maximum durability. Both sides of the GoTrap are equipped with high density 6lb per-square-foot fabric covered panels for maximum absorption. Inside, a high density diaphragmatic MDF panel acts double duty to both increase isolation, while combining with the air cavity to absorb deep bass. This is of particular benefit to small room studios that often suffer from excessive bass and room modes.

To save money on freight, the GoTrap ships flat for easy assembly. Once put together, it grows to become 36"x24"x8" device that can be stacked in various ways to suit. Available with choice of black, grey or beige panels.
