  • PreSonus Universal Control is Ready for Snow Leopard

    By Guest |

Snow Leopard slid in early but PreSonus FireStudio users won't be frozen out. Mac users received exciting news this week when Apple announced that Mac OS X 10.6, better known as Snow Leopard, would ship to customers on Friday, August 28, 2009, well ahead of the previously announced release schedule. PreSonus is happy to announce a public beta release of its Universal Control 1.1 control-panel software for all FireStudio-series interfaces (including the StudioLive 16.4.2 digital mixer) that is compatible with the new operating system. The public beta is available as of August 28, which coincides with Apple's Snow Leopard release. "PreSonus has been working closely with Apple to ensure our products are compatible with Snow Leopard," explains Chief Technology Officer Bob Tudor, while munching an oyster Po' Boy sandwich. "New features like aggregate-device support that is built into the operating system are exciting additions for Mac users. We want to ensure that our customers can take advantage of them." In addition to the Snow Leopard initiative, the PreSonus Engineering Department is also getting ready for the expected release of Windows 7 this fall. "It's OS season," says Tudor, "and our engineering team is working hard to make the latest technologies available to our customers." Universal Control 1.1 will be a free download at the Technical Support/Downloads (http://www.presonus.com/technical-support/downloads/drivers-software/) section of the PreSonus Web site.
