  • Prelude Double Bass Strings

    By Guest |

Noticing a need for an easily playable, yet economical, bass string set for students, D'Addario has introduced bass strings to their popular Prelude line of bowed strings.

Crafted with a special stranded steel core designed to provide optimum playability and the ideal tension for developing bassists, stainless steel wound Prelude bass strings have a quick, easy bow response and a clear, warm tone that is even from string to string and blends well with the rest of the orchestra. D'Addario Prelude bass strings are available in 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 scale lengths, medium tension only.

"There is clearly a lack of bass strings on the market that really work well for students, and we set out to remedy that," says D'Addario Bowed Strings Manager David Luce. "One of the nice things about D'Addario strings is that the fractional sizes aren't just full-size strings cut down. Each fractional set has been specifically designed, from the ground up, for that smaller scale, keeping the string tension appropriate for that smaller size. Plus, the Prelude strings are more pliable than solid core bass strings due to their special core, making them much easier for young hands to play."

Prelude bass strings retail for $153.00 per set and are now available.
