Hendrix made a profound impact on many guitarists in the later part of the 20th century. After his death many of these players continued to wave the Hendrix flag by morphing his sound, techniques, and guitar licks into their own unique style. Some of these guitarists include the likes of Eric Gales (The Eric Gales Band), Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions) and Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), which are considered the second and third wave of guitarist to carry on the Hendrix sound.

About the Author

Michael Johnson is a musician, teacher, and author. His credentials and experience are diverse and impressive, playing guitar since the age of 6 and teaching for over 25 years, Michael is the '92 & '93 winner of the KISW "Best Guitarist in Seattle" and author, editor and web developer for Experience Hendrix (Jimi Hendrix estate).
