  • Peavey Seeks Unsigned Talent For 2006 Zippo Hot Tour

    By Guest |

Musicians across the U.S. are vying for national exposure, a record label showcase and a cache of Peavey music gear in the 2006 Zippo Hot Tour competition. Peavey is sponsoring the Zippo Hot Tour, the only nationwide music competition where the fans choose the bands, for the second consecutive year.

"Partnering with the Zippo Hot Tour helps us reach musicians who are living their music every single day," says Tony Moscal, senior manager of marketing at Peavey, which will supply guitar and bass amplifiers, microphones, cables and stands in the winner's prize package. "Peavey has always had such a great rapport with musicians because we give them versatile instruments and amps that just won't quit. That means everything when you're on the road."

The participating bands will compete locally, and the winning band will showcase its talent to A&R executives. The band will then join a headlining band on a national tour as well as take home a Grand Prize Package of music gear totaling $100,000. Jealousy Curve, the 2005 winners, toured with The All-American Rejects and The Academy Is at the conclusion of last year's competition.

A full Peavey backline consisting of Windsor and ValveKing guitar amps and enclosures, Tour Series bass amps and enclosures, PVM microphones, cables and stands is included in the 2006 Grand Prize Package.

The 2005 Zippo Hot Tour competition is now underway, and unsigned bands from ten U.S. cities have until April 15, 11:59:59 PM EST to register at www.zippohottour.com to qualify for the first round of online competition. Participating cities include Milwaukee; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Ind.; Austin, Texas; Tampa and Orlando, Fla.; and Charlotte, N.C.
