Adams Concert Percussion recently added a very important instrument to their arsenal- an affordable wide-bar marimba designed with students and intermediate percussionists in mind.
The new Adams Wide-Bar 4.3 Octave Concert Series Padouk Marimba has the same features of the best selling Concert Series marimbas including: Concert Series bar width, welded essential resonators, Voyager height adjustable frame, upgraded leg castings with large locking casters, and black Vinyl covered hardwood rails.
Padouk wood bars offer an excellent alternative to Rosewood, by producing a beautifully warm, woody sound, at a fraction of the Rosewood's cost. The bars are tuned through the sixth overtone, which offers complete control over all aspects of the marimba sound. Precise tuning and voicing provides for balanced sound through the entire range of the instrument. Upgrade to Honduras Rosewood or Zelon Synthetic bars is easy in the future as the needs of the player change. Shawn Lafrenz, Concert/Adams Product Manager at Pearl adds, "This is the marimba I always wished I had in high school and college – a concert wide-bar sized instrument I could afford! The fact that a player can get this instrument early in their career and then upgrade to rosewood or change the bars to synthetic later on is a fantastic bonus". The Adams Wide-Bar 4.3 Octave Concert Series Padouk Marimba is available now through authorized Pearl/Adams Dealers across the U.S.
