LEEDS, U.K. — Oct. 26, 2012 — NUGEN Audio, creator of intuitive tools for audio professionals, is porting its line of audio-metering plugins to the Avid® AAX format, starting with the NUGEN ISL true-peak limiter. NUGEN Audio will demonstrate the AAX version of ISL at the AES convention in late October, with general availability in November. AAX updates for the rest of NUGEN Audio's product line will follow.
NUGEN Audio is committed to developing AAX plugins in order to ensure future compatibility with Avid's popular editing platform as it evolves.
"Many of our customers use Avid editing tools, so it was a natural course of action for us to create AAX plugins," said Jon Schorah, NUGEN Audio creative director. "This move ensures our customers will be able to continue using NUGEN Audio products with Avid's popular editing software well into the future."
Avid developed the 64-bit-ready AAX format to enable better integration among different Avid workflows, and it was designed with future expansion in mind.
