US distributor of STK products Redwood Music Corporation announced the introduction of a new small format mixer dubbed the VX1202N. The new mixer will be available for shipment shortly.

The STK-VX1202N features a total of 13 inputs distributed among 8 channels. There are 4 mic/line mono channels, 1 combined XLR mic and RCA stereo channel and 3 stereo line channels using 1/4" inputs. Each mic channel boasts the same studio quality mic preamp as is used in STKs larger format desks. The mic pre stays flat throughout its dynamic range, a highly sought feature. Mic channels feature a warm-toned, 4 band EQ and the stereo channels have a 3 band EQ. The clever 5th channel can be used either as an XLR mic channel or a stereo line level channel using the pair of RCA jacks making the STK-VX1202 more versatile. Inserts are available for the first 2 channels. All channels have 3 aux sends. The master section supports them with 2 stereo aux returns that can be sent to main or monitor outputs. Although small in physical size, the STK-VX1202 has 60mm faders on all channels and master sends in lieu of rotary pots, a professional feature appreciated by all levels of end users.

The mixer has a separate stereo mix that is activated when a channel mute switch is engaged. The solo system sends each channel to the headphone and control room outputs and can be used in an AFL or PFL manner. Other outputs include the left/right main outputs in XLR and 1/4 " with selectable level, a summed mono output with separate control, the alternate/B-Mix outputs, and RCA tape outputs tapped into the main mix. RCA CD/tape inputs are also present.

The new STK-VX1202N retails in the US at $459.95.
