Summit Audio has introduced the 2BA-221 Microphone and Line Module, tube mic pre amplifier constructed to add instant warmth to any vocal or instrument.

"Since Summit's inception, our goal has been to answer the needs of the engineer and the 2BA-221 continues that tradition," comments Erik Papp, president of Summit Audio. "Nothing else on the market compares to the 2BA-221's combination of advanced tube design and practicality. Its swept high-pass filter, multiple simultaneous tube and solid-state outputs, insert jack and internal power supply make it a powerful tracking and mixing tool. The 2BA-221's presentation and sonic quality matched with features like continuously variable impedance make it a new leader in the mic preamp market."

Offering users continuously variable microphone impedance from 100 ohms to 10K ohms, separate and simultaneous solid state and tube outputs and a separately controlled Hi-Z/line and microphone inputs for individual mix control, the 2BA-221 is priced at $695USD. Users can stack inputs linking multiple 2BA-221s to perform as a mixing device. With an insert jack and swept high-pass filter, XLR and 1/4-inch outputs and inputs and three variable, independent gain stages, the 2BA-221 is the new precedent for microphone pre-amplifiers.

The 2BA-221 also features a polarity switch, internal power supply and three-year warranty and is scheduled to ship in July 2002.
