Furman Sound has introduced the PS-8R II power conditioner/sequencer, featuring Furman's SMP technology. Furman's Series Mode Protection (SMP) circuit also features the company's exclusive Linear Filter Technology (LiFT).

The PS-8R II Power Conditioner/Sequencers is capable of powering up a rack full of equipment in a 3-step delayed sequence. The sequence is reversed for power-down. The sequence can be initiated with either momentary or maintained switches, locally or remotely. A duplex outlet is provided for each delay step. One or more Furman PS-8R II's may be installed in remote locations and operated via low-voltage wiring. The PS-8R II includes a rear mounted BNC jack which accepts any standard (12VAC, 0.5A) gooseneck lamp for rear rack illumination, as well as a front panel switch which controls the gooseneck's operation.

Furman's maintenance-free SMP surge suppression virtually eliminates service calls. Traditional surge suppression circuits "sacrifice" themselves when exposed to multiple transient voltage spikes, requiring the dismantling of your system, and repair of your surge suppressor. With Furman's SMP, however, damaging transient voltages are safely absorbed, clamped and dissipated. No sacrificed parts, no service calls, no down time.

Unlike some series mode suppressors, Furman's maintenance free feature is not at the expense of potential equipment failure! While other designs offer clamping voltages that are well above 300Vpk, Furman's SMP clamps at 188Vpk, 133 VAC RMS even when tested with multiple 6000Vpk - 3000 amp surges. Additionally, Furman's trusted over-voltage circuitry protects against all too frequent accidental connections to 208 or 240VAC, by shutting off the incoming power until the over voltage condition is corrected.

The PS-8R II has a US Suggested List Price of $299.00 Furman Series II products are protected by a limited three-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. See owner's manual for details.

Optional Accessories:

GN-I or GN-LED: These gooseneck lights (either incandescent or LED) are the perfect accessory to any Series II unit. They plug into the BNC jack on the rear panel to conveniently illuminate the rear of your rack. These versatile lights can also be used with a variety of other products in other applications. The US Suggested List Price of the GN-I is $19.95 and the GN-LED is $39.00.

PS-REL Relay: Allows a PS-8R II to be turned on by sensing AC at a preamp's switched outlet; also allows daisy-chaining for 6 or more delayed outlet groups. The US Suggested List Price of the PS-REL is $69.00.
