June 7, 2018, Washington, D.C. – GetGood Drums, the burgeoning software company helmed by prog heavyweights (Periphery’s Matt Halpern and Misha Mansoor alongside producers Adam “Nolly” Getgood and Derya “Dez” Nagle), offer the second release in their revolutionary drum library, Modern & Massive.
“GGD was born out of a desire to create high quality production tools for the modern musician, including, first and foremost, ourselves,” explained Getgood. “With Modern & Massive we wanted to create a virtual instrument that was sleek and simple to use, with extremely powerful, punchy, dynamic sounding drums. Thanks to our ‘turbo’ feature we have also given our users the option of amazing raw tones as well as mix ready sounds, available at the twist of a knob. Features like this allow for the ultimate user experience, giving complete focus on the creative process.”
GetGood Drums’ debut sample library, the Matt Halpern Signature Pack, arrived in 2016 and found itself utilized by producers across the musical spectrum with Bruno Mars’ production team, The Stereotypes, embracing the drum library as well as electronic production duo Grey and a number of rock outfits including We Came As Romans, Crown The Empire and Veil of Maya.
Modern & Massive took two years to create, with the library offering over 29 drums, 10 cymbals and hundreds of articulations, all engineered and recorded by Getgood, whose signature sound and attention to detail can be head on recordings for artists including Animals As Leaders, Devin Townsend, Architects and more. The virtual library also boasts a completely overhauled user interface and new features like a built-in reverb, midi-groove player, as well as a preset function dubbed “turbo” that delivers mix-ready sounds with one turn of the knob.
