    DS Series Cables

Gepco International introduced its new DS series of 110-Ohm digital audio twisted-pair cables at AES in San Francisco. Available in 24 and 26 gauge types and in multi-pair and single-pair configurations, Gepco's DS series are designed to provide electrical performance and improved flexibility.

This new series has been engineered to achieve the bandwidth and performance required for transmission of high-resolution digital audio sample-rates, such as 96kHz and 192kHz, which are commonly used in DVD and production level pro-audio applications. All Gepco DS series cables are rated up to 25MHz to meet the AES3-2003 specifications for these types of high sample-rate digital audio cable interconnects. They feature minimal attenuation, low-jitter, and a 110-Ohm impedance that remains stable when the cable is bent or flexed.

The DS series also features greater flexibility and mechanical performance. Through improved designs and compounds, the DS series is more flexible, flaccid, and easier to terminate. Without compromising flexibility, all DS single-pair and multi-pair products are also UL rated for use in both portable and permanent installation applications.

The new DS series of multi-pair and single-pair cables completely replace the previous generation of Gepco 5500 series of cables. Availability of the DS series of cable starts in Q4 2004.
