New for 2003, Veillette Guitars has introduced the bolt-on neck, singlecut magnetic-pickup bass. The design is a collaboration between Woodstock, NY luthiers Joe Veillette and Martin Keith.

With the neck fully supported up to the 14th fret, low frequencies and fundamentals are enhanced and integrated, giving the bass all the full-range sonic character of the finest neck-through-body singlecuts, while retaining the impact and responsiveness of classic bolt-on designs.

The innovative asymmetrical neck joint arrangement uses three steel machine bolts mated to hardened metal threads inside the neck, for a rock-solid connection that will never 'strip out'. This incredibly stable joint also allows an unprecedented amount of upper fret access for a bolt-on neck, since the treble side of the neck is completely unrestricted and playable.

As a true collaboration of Woodstock, NY luthiers, this bass is also the first production instrument to feature Citron soapbar pickups. This marks the first association between Citron and Veillette since the closing of their Veillette-Citron guitar company in 1982.

The Bolt-on Singlecut comes standard with a one-piece, graphite-reinforced 35" scale maple neck with 22-fret wenge fingerboard. The body is poplar, with optional figured maple top, 2 Citron soapbar pickups, and 2-band active EQ. Also new to this design is the fully-adjustable wood/brass bridge, which maintains the sliding dovetail attachment of previous Veillette designs. The instrument ships with a custom Veillette gig bag.

The bass is also available with Basslines or Bartolini pickups, and is available in all popular scale lengths, in 4, 5, and 6-string configurations, fretted or fretless.

Introductory List Price for the Bolt-on Singlecut is $2600.
