Radial Engineering announced the new JPC Direct box, a two channel DI that has been specifically designed for use with computer sound cards, consumer electronics, audio visual post systems, and electronic media.

The Radial JPC is a 'best of both worlds' hybrid active direct box that employs 48V phantom powering while providing passive isolation transformers at the input. This combination ensures problems such as ground loops are eliminated while driving long runs with less than ideal input signal can be accomplished.

The Radial JPC features both 1/4" and 1/8" stereo ring-tip-sleeve inputs, as well as two stereo sets of RCA inputs. Any of the input connectors may be used as thru-puts should a signal split be required. A -15dB input pad assures hot signals will not overload the JPC.

On the output panel, features include two balanced XLR mic level outputs and ground lift switch to further reduce opportunity for hum and buzz caused by ground loops. The Radial JPC derives its power from 48V phantom eliminating the need for batteries.

The Radial JPC is housed in a 14-gauge, I-Beam steel frame with an innovative book-end cover and baked enamel finish. These combine to ensure the JPC is never exposed to outside stress that could cause cold solder joints while providing the switches and jacks with maximum protection against damage. For more permanent installations, the JPC may be rack-mounted using the Radial J-Rak rack shelf.
