NAMM: Two More Roadgear Ibanez Basses

Ibanez introduced a pair of new Roadgear Basses, both featuring a two-octave neck that is thin in the lower frets like Ibanez's narrow necked Soundgear, but thicker in the upper frets like a tradition bass for fatter tone. Tone and sustain are further enhanced by Accu-Cast B200 bridge on the RD500 and the B100 bridge on the RD300. The J/M pickup configuration combines humbucking power and thick tones in the bridge position with the traditional sounds of a J-style pickup in the neck.

The deluxe model, the RD500, features a basswood body with quilted maple top, and an active Ibanez 2-band EQ that complements the powerful EPJ4 and EPH4 passive pickups. The list price is $499.99.

The RD300 standard Roadbass features an agathis body and a passive EQ. The list price is just $299.99.
