  • NAMM: New OS Released for Akai's DPS24

    By Guest |

Akai is proud to announce the release of V1.40 for the DPS24. The new V1.40 operating system adds many significant enhancements including improved mastering tools, a project recovery function and improved support for ak.Sys Track View software that provides a PC-based graphic editing environment. The DPS24 V1.40 operating system continues to revolutionize the concept of digital personal studios by expanding an already unprecedented selection of features and quality in an easy-to-use, cost effective configuration.

New mastering tools include dedicated functions that provide dithered bit reduction and sample rate conversion. The DPS24 allows the projects sample rate to be converted during the final mixdown stage, to allow users to take full advantage of the benefits of higher sampling rates on projects designed for release on audio CD's.

With the release of V1.40, an important new feature has been added that further ensures the safety of projects created on the DPS24. When a project is loaded, a duplicate copy of the project will be created in the background. In the event that the original project becomes corrupted, the safety copy can be recovered to avoid loss of data.

Additional enhancements have been added to ak.Sys Track ViewTM software that provide enhanced track name display and wave zoom. ak.Sys Track View now supports graphic track editing by selecting a cue, or region, with the mouse and right-clicking to access the DPS24's non-destructive edit functions.
