  • Multichannel Digital Audio Encoder for Dolby Digital 5.1 Featured at AES 2000

    By Guest |

Digigram, an acknowledged innovator of digital audio networking solutions, showcased today the development of powerful, easy-to-use software to create Dolby Digital multichannel sound with no special hardware. Digigram's new Multichannel Digital Audio Encoder is a stand-alone application that can also be used as a fully integrated plug-in with Digigram's Xtrack suite of multitrack digital audio editing tools, now offered free of charge.

Digigram's Multichannel Digital Audio Encoder can be used for DVD authoring, digital television, and other applications. Combining the software with Xtrack and Digigram PCX sound cards offers an integrated solution to a variety of Dolby Digital requirements.

PC-based Xtrack, Digigram's intuitive, high-quality audio editing software suite for audio-only and audio-for-video applications, is designed to take advantage of the power of our sound cards, but can also be used with any standard WAVE sound card under Windows. When used with select Digigram professional sound cards, Xtrack becomes a true, broadcast format, post production system, able to drive internal and external video equipment.

"We are enthusiastic about offering Xtrack's versatility free of charge along with our innovative Dolby Digital authoring software. It is consistent with Digigram's solutions-oriented commitment to serving our customers," said Neil Glassman, president of Digigram Inc.

Operation is simple. In the main window, the user selects the files to be assigned to each channel, a data rate and the path of the multichannel sound file. Then, "OK' is clicked and it's done!

An advanced setting window allows adjustment of all the specific Dolby Digital parameters such as dialog normalization and surround mix-down level.
