Martin Guitars and MTV: Music Television have teamed up for a second time to create a unique "MTV Unplugged II" acoustic guitar. To coincide with the reintroduction of "MTV Unplugged," the critically acclaimed acoustic music show has returned with "Unplugged 2.0." The show that sparked legendary performances from such artists as Eric Clapton, Nirvana, REM, Paul McCartney and many others is back with brand new acoustic performances.

The limited edition "MTV Unplugged II" full sized dreadnought features Solid East Indian rosewood and Solid Flamed maple back and sides. Prized for a rich and warm bass resonance, the Solid East Indian rosewood is used for the bass side while the Solid Flamed maple adorns the treble side. The MTV logo, inlaid with three shades of mother of pearl, gold pearl and abalone, will be nested under the C.F. Martin & Co. logo on the headplate. "Music Television," beneath the MTV logo, will be laid in gold foil.

The solid genuine Mahogany neck features an unbound genuine ebony fingerboard highlighted with positioned inlays spelling "U-N-P-L-U-G-G-E-D." Available with a satin or polished gloss finish, the limited edition guitar offers optional electronics.

Each MTV-2 Limited Edition guitar bears an interior label signed by Martin Chairman and CEO C.F. Martin IV and numbered in sequence, and each is presented in a unique "stealth" hardshell case with special black fittings.

Custom dreadnought and orchestra models are being offered with rare Amazon rosewood back and sides. Orders for these instruments will be limited to those taken in person at the 2003 Winter NAMM show. The MTV2 edition size is limited to 200 guitars.
