  • Korg Releases OS Update for Professional Arrangers

    By Guest |

Korg has recently released Version 1.6, the latest in a series of free operating system upgrades for the Pa1X Pro and Pa1X Arranger keyboards

New features include software support for the user-installable EXB-MP3 board, which allows players to record their entire performance -- including vocals -- as an MP3 file. Files recorded in this way can be played back via the internal sequencer during a later performance.

Also supported is an optional upgrade to the on-board TC-Helicon vocal processor. This option (SUGTC1) adds the pitch correction and vocal modeling features. It can be purchased by visiting www.korgpa.com, and a trial version is included in the newest OS version.

Version 1.6 also offers more resources -- two new snares, four new drum kits and four new Styles.

    Additional highlights include:

    • The ability to solo a track
    • MP3 files with embedded lyrics can now be played in the Song Play mode
    • Lyrics (MIDI or MP3) can also be shown in the Song Book mode
    • The eight assignable sliders can be linked to the Real-time controls of the Sound mode, allowing the user to access multiple parameters during performance
    • An Undo function in the sequencer mode
    • A new, more convenient way to delete samples and multi-samples
    • Over two dozen new shortcuts for accessing key features quickly

Version 1.6 and the new Pa1X and Pa1X Pro resources are currently available, and can be downloaded for free at www.korgpa.com.
