  • JAUQO III-X To Lead Bass Clinic At The Bass Club Chicago

    By Guest |

Avant funk fusion bassist JAUQO III-X, best known for his contribution of the low C# string and the controversial recording The Low C# Theory, will lead a bass clinic from noon - 4 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the Bass Club Chicago, 12213 S. Cicero Ave., Alsip.

The clinic will be the central activity at what also will be the annual Chicagoland "Get Together" (GTG) for local TalkBass.com members, but all are invited.

Talkbass.com is an online forum; its members consist of bassists from around the world. The Bass Club Chicago is a retail store that sells only bass guitars, amplifiers, cabinets and other bass-related gear.

III-X will demonstrate his instructional program, "The Essence of the Groove," which he designed to help bassists improve their ability to groove. The program ($15) consists of 70 individual practice tracks created by III-X and a live drummer along with transcriptions of all bass lines. The program is available exclusively through the JAUQO III-X website.
