The Jaguar Bass has added a new level of cool to the world of electric bass since its introduction in 2006. Based on the design of the Jaguar guitar, the goal is tonal control. The ability to switch pickups on and off, from series to parallel and active to passive provides a wide tonal palette that works for both the set-and- forget player and the eternal-tone-adjustor. New classic color additions for 2008 are Three-color Sunburst and Olympic White (both with a four-ply brown-shell pickguard), adding to the Black and Hot Rod Red versions. The thin, fast one-piece C-shaped maple neck (matching headstock on Hot Rod Red model) has a warm tint with a rosewood fingerboard, complete with aged white pearloid block position markers. Its distinct roar comes from two Jazz Bass® pickups which can be fine-tuned with the wide array of electronics options.
