Impact Soundworks Releases Irish Tin Whistle Sample Library
FULTON, Md.-- Today, Impact Soundworks Lead Developer Andrew Aversa announced the release of the deepest Irish Tin Whistle sample library commercially available as the second instrument in the company’s VENTUS Ethnic Winds virtual instrument series.
Available now for $99, this Tin Whistle sample library captures the depth and range of this traditional Celtic folk instrument with an extensive selection of playing techniques, ornaments, and pre-recorded phrases. Together with the VENTUS instrument design, composers and musicians can easily create realistic performances with authentic decorations – no keyswitches or tweaking required.
Created for Native Instruments Kontakt, the VENTUS Tin Whistle library features performances by multi-instrumentalist Josh Plotner. The Impact Soundworks sampling process captures the essence of an instrument famous for contemplative tones that can breathe calm or invoke deep emotion.
The VENTUS Tin Whistle includes ISW’s “Total Articulation Control Technology” (TACT), a unified method of mapping and performing any articulation. With TACT, composers can quickly create personalized ways of playing any VENTUS library using any combination of MIDI notes, velocities, keyswitches and controllers. This includes unique “mid-note” articulations common to the tin whistle.
Other key features include:
• More than 3,100 24-bit samples recorded through warm ribbon and room mics
• 16 playing techniques including true legato and portamento playing
• Nearly 450 phrases from quick motifs to short songs
• Organic ornament system allows for effortless authentic performances
• Simple user interface with dozens of under-the-hood controls
• Easy FX rack for EQ, compression, delay, and reverb
Compatible with Native Instruments KONTAKT 5.3 and higher, the phrases of the library can also be loaded as WAVs in a DAW for further editing, slicing, and arrangement.
“The tin whistle was a natural choice for our next entry in the VENTUS series,” Aversa said. “It has a beautiful tone, and it works wonderfully for both folk music and scoring to picture!”
Customers who already own the VENTUS Shakuhachi released earlier this year can save $20 on the Tin Whistle. This deal is available from the personalized ISW Deals page.
