    By Guest |

Twilight has been very bright for Hal Leonard Corporation. The world's largest music print publisher has exclusive print rights to music from Summit Entertainment's blockbuster film Twilight, and its enormously successful sequel The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which it has translated into dozens of bestselling music print publications. The action-packed, modern day vampire love story Twilight – the first film in the series – was released in theatres on November 21, 2008 to a blockbuster reception. The second installment of the film franchise, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, was released November 20, 2009 to a record-breaking opening. Boasting beautiful scores and emotion-filled, alt-rock tunes, the soundtracks have fared equally well, soaring up the Billboard charts. Hal Leonard has published an array of Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon songbooks, play-alongs and band arrangements. The company offers Piano/Vocal/Guitar soundtracks, Piano Solo scores, Easy Piano and Big-Note Piano editions, Piano Play-Alongs, Piano Duet Play-Alongs and Instrumental Play-Alongs, as well as concert and marching band arrangements of the music from each film. Hal Leonard The Twilight Saga: New Moon publications feature indie originals all written exclusively for the follow-up film, such as Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox" and songs by Thom Yorke, Muse, Bon Iver, Band of Skulls, Sea Wolf, Lykke Li and others. Oscar®-nominee Alexandre Desplat wrote the melodic score, including the haunting composition "New Moon (The Meadow)." The company's Twilight titles contain composer Carter Burwell's "Bella's Lullaby" and tracks from bands that author Stephenie Meyer listened to as she wrote the books in the series, including the popular singles "Decode" by Paramore and "Go All the Way (Into the Twilight)" by Perry Farrell. Songs from Muse, Linkin Park, Collective Soul, Mute Math and others are also arranged, plus "Never Think" by British actor Robert Pattinson, who plays the movie's male lead. The songbooks feature multiple pages of full-color photos from the film. Hal Leonard VP of Pop & Standard Publications Jeff Schroedl comments, "Twilight has been an enormous hit for us this whole year. The music is terrific, and lends itself remarkably well to a wide range of publications for players of all instruments and levels. The two lead themes – "Bella's Lullaby" and "New Moon (The Meadow)" – are piano recital staples, and are destined to become movie music classics."
