  • Globalstor Data Corporation Debuts ExtremeStore-Capella Data System

    By Guest |

Globalstor Data Corporation, a leading OEM Integrator of high performance RAID, SAN and storage/video servers, is debuting its ExtremeStor-Capella at AES 2007. The 4GB Fibre Channel Host data storage solution is designed to support the most rigorous uncompressed audio and video sessions for both direct attached and SAN implementations.

Scaling anywhere between 16TB and 80TB on a single system that requires minimal rack space, the newest addition to Globalstor's ExtemeStor series of robust and flexible server platforms offers on-line capacity expansion at both SAS and SATA II disk levels. Its next generation enterprise dual disk architecture simplifies management and growth for a full range of mid to complex applications. Equipped with an embedded Web-based GUI, Globalstor's Capella provides one or more views of enclosures from a centralized console. Industry standard protocols are used for employing and monitoring "all" cable-less hardware components, enabling IT staff to set parameters for disbursing pop-up messages and email notifications to appropriate personnel, insuring against any single point of failure.

"Through the ExtremeStor-Capella, Globalstor is able to efficiently protect data integrity by providing high availability of storage that can be adjusted to accommodate each environment's unique demands," says Scott Leif, president of Globalstor Data. "Its simplified approach in accessing fully-redundant storage makes data easier to deploy, manage and maintain. In dual controller configuration, the level of redundancy, data throughput and reliability are further enhanced providing a level of piece of mind."

Globalstor's ExtremeStor-Capella is offered in either a single or dual active controller, both of which run failover/failback operations through on-board redundant data paths to back end dual ported SAS and SATA disk drives. Its RAID functions include 0, 1, 1E, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, any of which can be combined and co-exist simultaneously.

Now available with a three-year factory warranty, prices for the ExtremeStor-Capella start at $8,200 US MSRP with 4TB of usable storage.
