Microtech Gefell announced the introduction of the M930 XY Stereo Pack, a stereo microphone kit that incorporates two M930 large diaphragm cardioid mics with an innovative X/Y stand adaptor.

The stereo matched Gefell M930 microphones feature a gold sputtered diaphragm with ultra low noise transformerless power converter, all of which are elastically suspended and housed in a compact design for reduced mechanical noise. The small size provides maximum placement flexibility, and minimal reflective disruption from sound waves.

Microtech Gefell touts the new M930 as establishing new 'digital-ready' boundaries at both dynamic extremes, with only 7dB-A self-noise. At the other extreme, the M930 is capable of 142dB sound pressure exposure thus allowing the engineer to take full advantage of newer generation 24bit-96kHz recording capabilities and beyond.

To precisely aim the M930s, a series of micrometer-style laser-engraved etchings on both the microphone and the clips are employed. These provide accurate and repeatable microphone spacing to ensure optimum XY stereo imaging is achieved. The ability to bring the two capsules in close proximity further advantages realism while allowing the engineer to capture the warmth that is only possible from a large diaphragm mics.

Like all Gefell microphones, the M930 is entirely hand made in Gefell, Germany following the Neumann family tradition that began in 1928. This includes all electronics, capsules and housing construction. The M930 XY Stereo Pack comes in a satin nickel finish complete with clips, adaptor and a deluxe wood storage case.
