  • ESI Announces 8-Channel Analog and ADAT USB Interfaces

    By Guest |

ESI introduced GigaPort AG, USB to 8-channel analog interface and GigaPort DG, USB to ADAT digital output device, at the Winter NAMM show. GigaPort is the first of its kind, offering eight channels of audio output to either a single ADAT Lightpipe interface (DG) or eight individual analog outputs (AG). The versatility of USB means that now you can have a viable portable audio connection from your laptop or any USB compatible computer to the destination of your choice.

GigaPort DG with its ADAT digital connector is the world's first USB to ADAT optical interface and is compatible with any piece of equipment that supports the ADAT optical interface. GigaPort AG is equipped with eight RCA analog outputs along with eight channels of 24-bit D/A converters.

Perfect for surround monitoring, the GigaPort offers full compatibility with Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 surround formats and is ready to support DTS ES 6.1, and 7.1 new surround formats. GigaPort supports ASIO 2.0 as well as GSIF. GigaPort is compatible with both Mac and PC.

The ESI GIGAPort AG and DG are priced at $199 each and are slated to begin deliveries in February 2002.
